What are clear aligners/Invisalign?

Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that uses transparent, removable aligners to gradually straighten teeth. These aligners are custom-made for each patient and are virtually invisible when worn.

Each clear aligner from Invisalign is made of SmartTrack® material for a better match and accurate, gentle movements. Invisalign, which was created in collaboration with orthodontists and is now used in dental practices all over the world, has proven to be effective at straightening teeth.

Signs you need Aligners

Teeth spacing-  used to move teeth into proper location to close unnatural gaps

Overbite or underbite- corrects unusual horizontal or vertical gap that occurs between upper and lower teeth

Crowded teeth- used to correct the issue of lack of spacing in between teeth thereby preventing them from overlapping or twisting

Crossbite- corrects upper and lower teeth that cross each other in opposite direction.

Post braces-  people who had braces previously but for some reasons if they have experienced their teeth shifting out of a alignment, clear aligners may be recommended.

Invisalign uses 3-D computer imaging technology to map the entire treatment from beginning to end. This plan is used to create a series of customized aligners that are specific to your treatment. Each aligner is worn for approximately two weeks before being replaced by the next aligner. The teeth gradually move towards their final position.

Clear aligners work by gradually move teeth to its desired position. It works well for both teenagers and adults. This is achieved by wearing a series of aligners, each for a certain period of time, the specifics of which will be advised by our clinic orthodontist after a thorough clinical examination

It is recommended to wear your Invisalign aligners 20 to 22 hours per day for best results. The aligners should only be removed when eating, drinking (except for water), brushing, and flossing.

It is normal to feel some pressure or soreness when wearing a new set of aligners, but this typically subsides within a few days as your teeth adjust.

Duration varies from patient to patient. But it is certainly faster than traditional braces in moving multiple teeth.

There are no diet restrictions. It is recommended to remove your Invisalign aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water. This helps prevent staining and damage to the aligners. After consuming food or beverages, make sure to brush your teeth before putting the aligners back in. Make sure you clean your aligners every day before putting it back on.
